'I'm an expert in bad relationships'
Una Healy, 28
She's been cheated on, been out with men who've knocked her confidence and had countless dating disasters.
But Una Healey has finally found the perfect man in England rugby player, Ben Foden, 24.
"I'm an expert in bad relationships which is why I know when I've got it right," she laughs.
"Ben and I have just come back from our first holiday together in Ibiza, which was completely perfect. You know if you can go away and it works, it's really working."
Una, who is from Thurles in County Tipperary, has that classic Irish matter of factness, which makes her unbelievably likeable. She simply tells it as it is. She says: "Our relationship is serious. We've been going out for two years and we live together. He's the man for me. I can get uptight and moody and he knows exactly how to calm me down. And we don't fight. I've had tempestuous relationships before and they don't work for me.
"Me and Ben both want the same things out of life and it's a lovely feeling."
Una's chequered romantic history has taught her that relationships have to be worked on.
"I want a great career, but I want a great relationship, too. There's no point in being rich and successful but also on your own with no one to share it all with."
It's not just her relationship with Ben that Una is keen to make a success of. She started playing the guitar at the age of 13 and fronted a local rock band before joining The Saturdays and she is fiercely passionate about the band.
"This is what I've wanted since I was a kid," she says. "It's a tough business. When I couldn't make it before, I tried to train as a nurse and I was so miserable that I just had to go back to singing. I want this so much. I want to break Europe and America.
"If we weren't serious about the band, we wouldn't have gone through the real pain of getting rid of our manager, but it was something we had to do to get things right."
Gosh, they really make me sound so serious in that Fabulous Mag interview...
I am very upset at being misquoted and fed up of journalists doing it to us, i NEVER used the words "get rid" that is disgusting!!!!
We are all very grateful for everything Jayne did for us and she knows this too, so please don't believe all you read its not true x
The Saturdays paid a visit to Alan Carr on his Channel 4 late-night show on Sunday. Frankie, Rochelle, Una, Vanessa and Mollie will release an EP entitled "Headlines" on August 16th. This mini-album is preceded by the first single "Missing You". A very nice electro-pop ballad. However, the girl group did not perform its original version last night but the DANCE REMIX. Peeps may be having a blast with this version in the clubs in the UK but I think the girls should respect the main version for the TV performances, just saying...They clearly mimed on Alan Carr but they rocked the stage with the choreography. "Missing You" will be officialy released on August 8th, digitally, and following day in its physical edition. Hopefully it'll be a hit for The Saturdays.
